Guild Holiday Party Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9a.m. DO NOT sleep on buying them, as this ALWAYS sells out fast. More details about the charities involved can be found on the guild site linked in the last sentence. We really want to have a heavy presence at this event. Baltibrew is the fastest growing club in the state, the youngest on average, and — we think — the most diverse. Let's show the rest of the clubs what we're all about.
Minutes from last Thursday's meeting are after the jump. As noted at the meeting, please read these here. They're posted to the website specifically so we don't have to re-hash all aspects of old business from the previous meeting. This saves us time, and gets us down to the ACTUAL business at hand of drinking, sharing, and discussing homebrew.
In addition to the link to minutes, if you won't take my word for how fun the Guild Holiday Party is, I've included a more thorough description.
Baltibrew met this past Thursday at Alewife and discussed a wide variety of things. Mainly Chilibrew IV, which went over like gangbusters! But we also got into discussing our plans for the Guild Holiday Party. As mentioned last year, the event is tons of fun, and ALWAYS sells out quickly. We want to ensure that we have a very big presence at the event so make sure you get on purchasing your tickets as soon as we send out the notification that tickets are on sale.
The theme for the party is "TV Dinner," so basically comfort foods from the 1950s, not necessarily actual TV dinner items like Salisbury Steak, etc.
As it went last year, there will be a club hour, and this year we can pick any theme we want, but it has to be tightly produced. The beer has to be consistent with the theme, as do the appetizers, etc.
We've come up with a few ideas, but we would like you to vote on them. We NEED you to comment when you vote on which theme you like with supporting ideas for each theme. Let's do our best to win this year's club hour competition with the most interesting, and cohesive theme. This poll will close in a week, and we'll RE-vote on the top two theme ideas that are best supported with your own ideas for them.
First, MINUTES!
Then the poll.
What should our Guild Holiday Party theme be?

September was a very productive meeting, and thanks to everyone who came and contributed. Please see the PDF below for the meeting minutes, and see you in October.
Meeting seemed to go well last night. Not amazingly attended, but we got the business at hand done.
Read the minutes, and make comments as you need to.
Start time: 8:10 p.m.
Meeting opened by John Jester
Introductions & roll call:
Hey all!
Been a busy couple of weekends, but here's the minutes for this month's 6-2 meeting.
I also wanted to remind everyone that our June 25th brew is quickly approaching.
John and I have put together a basic recipe to use, with different Brewer's Art yeast strains available for members to choose from.
We'll post another update early this coming week.
Awesome meeting last night. Got to hang out with Lee Marren, Stone's regional rep. Great time had by all.
We talked about Sunday's brew day with Brian "Stillwater" Strumke, and next Sunday's Chilibrew 3, amongst other things.
Minutes are here.
Full post up about Sunday's big brew sometime tonight.
March meeting was a success. 13 members in attendance, and we took care of a goodly bit of business, all of which can be read about in the detailed meeting minutes.
We tasted the results of our February, 3 Lions brew, and decided to enter all four versions this past Friday, March 11th. We should hear about the results of the comp later this week.
Coming up fast we have our — still tentative — April 10th brew with Brian "Stillwater" Strumke, and the following week — April 17th — we have Chilibrew 3.0 at the Ash Street Farm in Hampden.
We'll also be having a work day before our April brew to get keggles, mash tuns, and burners built, as well as getting a basic fermentation kit set up.
Great brew today at Slack's house. Two extract batches of 3 Lions, and a supplement boil for Ian's stout. Good times. Meeting minutes below. Dues vote to be up soon. Safe travels Boddy. God Speed. Continue reading
It was a marathon, but our January meeting resulted in a fair amount of demonstrable progress.
Three positions were filled with volunteer nominees. Since they ran unopposed, their appointment was not put to a vote. Their duties can be found in the meeting minutes download-able below.
A vote will be had on an amount to charge members for yearly dues, with the proceeds being used to increase the club's current brewing volume to a level that will allow members to take home a reasonable amount of wort. Additional monies will be spent to create kits that can be checked out. Please make comment on the notion and amount of dues in the comments as you see fit.
We will meet to brew on Saturday February 5th at the home of Greg Slack. We still need to decide what to brew.
Make candidate beer nominations/suggestions in the comments, and we'll put this to a vote starting on Friday, with votes closed on Wed afternoon.
