Photo of yeast cells buddingBrew day is THIS SATURDAY, June 25th @ the home of John Jester.

Unfortunately, our planned guest brewer, Rob Perry will not be able to make the brew, but has promised to help us out in the future. Despite his absence, we will be making 45 gallons of Belgian Pale Ale, and will have three different yeasts graciously provided by Brewer's Art for use on the beer.

This experiment will show what a substantial difference your choice of yeast makes even on the same beer. The only difference between any of the beers produced from this collective brew — outside of your own sanitation, and temperature controls — is the yeast.

We'll also be debuting our second 150 qt. mash tun which could eventually — with new kettles — almost double our current capacity.

Mash-in starts at 9 a.m. sharp, and we expect to be finished by 5 p.m. if all goes according to plan.

Eight 5-gallon batches will be available for dues-paid members to take home. I will post price this evening in the comments. Bring a fermenter or rent a club bucket for $5.

Remember: John has opened his pool, so bring towels, swimsuits, and sunscreen.

As usual, there will be grill space available so bring something to grill, a side dish, and most importantly, beer to share.
