Regular January meeting took place on January 18th.
Read the minutes from the meeting to catch up on Baltibrew news.
The club will convene on Groundhog Day at Jon Blair's house to brew. More details on that soon.
Baltibrew is proud to announce its duly elected 2013 offcers.
Below is the link to the minutes from last weeks November meeting. The most important thing is getting people to volunteer to help cook the items we have listed on our menu. We also need people to bring items they think will work for decorating our space willy wonka style, as well as dress up as special characters from the movie.
I've put together a spreadsheet for members to fill in in terms of stepping up in those categories Please go here and fill in what you will be doing in terms of decorations/food/costumes. The guild party is 2 WEEKS and although i know this week is busy, try and fill it in when you can.
Have a great thanksgiving everyone, travel safe, and enjoy your time with your family/friends. (and of course some great autumn beers)
Great meeting last night everyone. We had a great turnout of both established and new members and it was great to see. we even got the meeting portion of our night done in 50 minutes (a new record?).
The BIG thing we discussed that needs voting, and discussion on here is if we should hold our November brew at Wootowns Mead Brew on November 3rd (sat). If you didn't know, Wootown is another great homebrew club who does a Mead brew every fall up at one of their members' apiaries in White Hall. Me, Ryan, and Brent have all been multiple times and not only is it great to talk to other members of other clubs, but the scenery/food/drink is top notch.
So, please vote below if you are down with November 3rd in White hall or not. I realize that's a bit of a drive, but it's well worth it once you're there, especially in the fall. Please vote ASAP since Nov. 3rd is right around the corner.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.ALSO - in the comments, please list what you think we should brew. There was discussion of doing beers for the guild xmas party as well Braggot (since we have access to a lot of honey). Please post your comments below.
We also decided on our xmas guild subcommittee:
Food: Steve Hulbert
Beer: Jon Blair
Decorations: Kristen Filucci
Costumes: Ryan Detter
thanks for volunteering!
Have a safe and great starting weekend to baltimore beer week, and don't forget about our Gruit Competition tomorrow at 5PM at Liams Ale House.
Last week, despite the epic rain, a lot of us were able to get together to have a productive meeting and taste some members great homebrew. Attached are the minutes, which I promise is a quick read.
Lastly, be sure to add in the comments of this post your ideas for our club theme for this years guild xmas party. Be sure to not only include the theme, but also what food/drink/costumes/deocorations would work with said theme. We had some great ideas thursday and want to pick one sooner than later since our september club brew will be beer for the party.
Prost!
Below you will find the minutes, instructions for good sanitation/cleaning (that we went over during the meeting), as well as various info on competitions coming up. We had a great June meeting (with great beer shared by everyone) and i have highlighted the important stuff to remember:
Great to see everyone who came by for the May meeting last week. We had a very good and productive meeting, and look forward to the guild picnic as well as our July brew.
Here are the MINUTES in case you weren't able to attend (or had too many dales deviant pale ale)
Thanks to everyone who turned out. We got a lot done and tasted some great homebrew from Greg (lemongrass pale ale), Ryan B. (russian imperial stout, and dark mild from the RIS's second runnings), Nate (loose cannon clone), and Dan (Scotch Ale).
Here are the minutes, and see everyone on SUNDAY, for what's sure to be a great day filled with homebrew, chili, and friends!
We met last week at Dionysus.
Highlights were Jason Heinen and Ryan Boddy's short presentation/roundtable on yeast. Jason brought along a few nice bottles of two beers that used the same grain bill/hop schedule, but different yeasts, and we examined how the yeast uniquely affected the beers.
We continue our gear-up to Chilibrew V. Make sure you're looped in on the preparations via the minutes. If you can think of a sponsor, let us know and we'll work to get them involved.
Minutes! Read them!
Met this pasts Thursday at Dionysus. Fairly good turnout for a reboot of our regular date/time, and location.
Minutes are here. Details therein include:
Got a vote to get done. What shall we brew in March? It's after the jump.
January's meeting was VERY productive, if not long. Baltibrew enters 2012 refreshed, growing (several new members were in attendance), and ready to dominate the Maryland homebrew scene with an iron fist!
A number of key action items have been posted to the Google Group, and details of what went down in the meeting are in the linked minutes below.
