It’s time for our 7th celebration of the DIY spirit! Brought to you by the Baltibrew homebrew club, the Charitably Charmin’ ChiliBrew is an informal, semiannual charity homebrew competition and chili cookoff, now benefiting Station North Tool Library, Bikemore, and Gather Baltimore, and sponsored by Nepenthe Homebrew, Maryland Homebrew, Baltimore Clayworks, Union Craft Brewing, Brewtherville Labs, and Lady Brew Baltimore.
This fall we will be gathering at 2640 Space (2640 St. Paul St. 21218), where last year we had 50+ entries and 400+ enthusiastic judges. That’s right, YOU choose the winners for 3 competitions: homebrew, veggie chili, and meat chili. A 3-judge panel composed of local food/beverage personas will also make their top picks.
Anyone can compete in the ChiliBrew, and anyone can judge! Just looking for a good time with good food/brews/all of the above? Come on out! Got a killer family chili recipe or brew your own beer? Bring it on! Involved with some other hobby or organization that Does It Together, here in Baltimore? Share the love! We want to bring people interested in all aspects of local lifestyles together to cross-pollinate and build community.
TICKETS for the general public are available in advance for $20, or $25 at the door. Your ticket includes unlimited homebrew and chili, a commemorative tasting glass, and a great time! And every delicious sip or bite you take supports our excellent beneficiaries. Only 500 tickets will be available, so get yours now!
Competitors must REGISTER and pay a $10 deposit. When you arrive with your brew and/or chili, you will be entitled to: admission, unlimited tasting, a special competitor tasting glass, and of course the chance to win fabulous prizes and bragging rights (now almost $1500 in prizes!: see the competition RULES).
Celebrity Judging at Chilibrew VII
For the third Chilibrew in a row, local Baltimore beer and chili gurus will be serving on celebrity judging panels providing another chance for competitors to win prizes and to even out the playing field for competitors regardless of how much chili or beer they are able to bring. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of the beer, meat chili, and veggie chili categories.
This year on the celebrity beer panel we will have:
Stephan Fogleman, Chairman of the Baltimore City Liquor License Board (http://www.baltimorecity.gov/

This year we’re turning the tables on the celebrity chili judges and hosting the 1st Annual Chilibrew Celebrity Judges Chili Competition. One winner will be chosen from among the four celebrity chilis. Here’s your chance to judge the judges!
