We’re a Baltimore City based beer/brew club that started in July of 2009.  Our overall goal is to have a good time, enjoy beers, and learn about brewing beer; all within the city limits.

We don’t really have bylaws, as that seems pretty formal for the kind of laid back club we intend to be, but here are some of the “rules” we try to follow:

1. We try as hard as we can to have meetings within the city (preferably close to public transportation)
2. It’s not required that you know jack about brewing and/or beer
3. It IS required that you’re open minded and willing to have a good time and learn
4. Beers must be vegan (this only affects certain beers like milk stouts)

Unwritten “rules” as of now:

1. For the time being, there are no dues to be a member – if you participate in a brew, chip in for the supplies
2. We don’t have “elected members”, only certain members who are in charge of things such as maintaining the website, etc. (once again, elections seem a bit formal)
3. We try to hold a meeting every month, and a brew at least every other month.

So that’s a bit about what we’re trying to do here.  In particular we are hoping to get people who have no idea about brewing, and want to learn more but were always a bit nervous to join an “advanced” beer club…rest assured there won’t be any laughing if you don’t know the difference between an APA and an IPA, that’s exactly what we don’t want to happen.
